What happens at a taster session? Find out more

Booking a taster session gives you the opportunity to see what we are about and what our service offers and more importantly the amazing effect we have on your residents.

The taster sessions are always the same theme (Colour) as this is the easiest for the Motivational Therapist to quickly adjust according to our clients needs and abilities as at this stage we do not know the level of delivery required, we can quickly adjust dependant on the group without it being obvious.

Once on board the sessions are then tailored to our clients needs and abilities.

All the Motivation & Co. Class materials are specifically designed and produced by the company fit for purpose making this unique to us.

The Motivation & Co. Class is delivered over an hour delivering the full package within the four sections:

  1. Cogitive therapy- where we use visual aids to help the residents not feel like they are doing a quiz where they may feel that they are not good at quizzes by using the different visual mats it makes this section more enjoyable and effective.
  2. Chair based exercises – We have various levels and themed exercises developed by our physiotherapist and over 50’s instructor these are recorded so as not to dilute the quality keeping consistency throughout the UK. Again these are at different levels to suit all abilities: Dementia level is delivered with theta music for the brain, with all the descriptive words taken out, the high level will be done to music relating to that theme for example Good Housekeeping is recorded with “If I knew you were coming I’d have baked a cake”
    Games – These have been designed by the company and are unique to us one of which is patented. They are designed to help eye and hand coordination as well as the fun factor.
  3. Music Therapy – We have a wide range of music to suit everyone’s taste
    An Evaluation – at the end of each session is recorded on each resident on their engagement, interaction, memory recall, etc.

Once we have delivered the taster session we leave you a couple of days to digest and get feedback from staff and residents to evaluate if this is something you would wish to use on a regular basis. We will contact you to get feedback as you know your residents better than us to see if you had a good response or not.

How often do I book?

We book you in either weekly, fortnightly or four weekly same day & time each session. Each home is different as to how often they have us.
